Who is Kamma?

Kamma is a Venture Capital backed tech company setting new standards in environmental property profiling. We work in the ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) and climate change spheres of property data to empower our partners to accelerate the transition to a carbon-zero world by leveraging cutting edge data and technology.

Social impact is a central pillar here at Kamma and we deploy insights to build and support the strategies that deliver it. Climate change is the biggest threat humanity has ever faced and we are on a mission to overcome this humongous challenge by helping businesses achieve carbon neutrality for all UK property: Property Zero. Finding people that share in our mission and share our values is a crucial part of this pursuit.

What is the role?

Having just closed a Series A round, we’re in the rapid scale up stage of our journey and have an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic Head of Marketing/Content to join our team.

You will report directly to our Chief Growth Officer, tasked with owning the marketing half of our growth plan. Data is our superpower, enabling us to punch way above our weight (and above the power of our budget alone). Our data-led content pieces make national news, compelling white papers, infographics, videos and inform sales enablement. For this position, we are looking for initiative and energy in someone who will build our brand, develop our propositions, hone our message and generate a continual stream of high-quality leads.

If you’re a strong storyteller able to deploy insights and proof points effectively then this role could be for you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Marketing and content strategy – define the strategy and own the funnel from a marketing perspective. Ensure the team hits and exceeds long and short-term marketing objectives
  • Product marketing – refine the proposition and channel strategy for our core solutions, creating engaging narratives for each sector we support and ensure a compelling range of sales enablement assets are available
  • Content creation – own flagship thought leadership pieces, direct the team in the creation of BAU content and ensure that our network of freelancers is delivering so the wheels on our content engine continue to turn. Coming into the business with your own network of trusted designers and copywriters would be a plus
  • Brand ownership – develop and then tell our story across multiple channels, ensure message alignment & continuity across our website as well as all channels and markets
  • SEO – ensure our content is optimised without compromising on quality, ensuring we rank for relevant, high value terms
  • Team management (and recruitment) – build and and lead your team to exceptional results
  • MarTech management – you’ll help us make the most of platforms such as Hubspot, Mailchimp and Google Analytics and Ads
  • Data analysis – we’re data-driven in our approach and analyse all campaigns based on direct and longer-term business impact. As a data business we also deploy hero insights to make our campaigns more impactful. You’ll also be comfortable presenting and justifying these to wider senior business leaders

You should apply if:

  • you are confident, independent and like the idea of being a key component in a tight and growing entrepreneurial company striving for extremely high standards
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a marketing or content role, with strong results to show for it already
  • you have exceptional written word skills, demonstrable in your working capacity and / or through a strong academic record to degree level, preferably in a written or marketing discipline from a top-tier university.
  • you are ambitious, with a desire to be the best in your chosen field. Experience and sector are secondary in our process, we’re looking for talented hungry people that want to make a big impact
  • you have strong MS Office / G Suite publishing skills including PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • you are experienced with a range of MarTech platforms including Hubspot and Google Analytics
  • you have experience selling SaaS, DaaS or data products, that’s a bonus
  • you excel in a self-managed, team environment, working pragmatically across locations and with teams of different discipline
  • We can only accept applicants that have the right to work in the UK

This isn’t for you if:

  • you’re looking for a pure management or strategy position – you’ll be expected to get your hands dirty to get things done, whether that be writing content yourself, analysing channel traffic or urgently getting a deck ready for a pitch. Of course you’ll also inspire and lead your team to produce their best work
  • you’re not aligned with our values. They’re on our website and are very important to us!
  • you’re a top down leader – we only hire talented people and giving them the space, security and guidance to develop and execute their own ideas is key to our success
  • you’re not into KPIs. Our metrics are not sticks that we use to beat people with, but evidence that we use to measure impact, drive decision making, and iterate our approach. KPIs need to be at the heart of how you work

What do we offer?

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience
  • Hybrid working: our office is on the Strand open 7 days a week to all staff but you can work from anywhere you can do your best work. You do need to be able to come into the office when needed by your team and for company events.
  • Benefits: Pension, health insurance, charity days, book allowance, Central London office, home office budget, cycle to work scheme
  • A founding team who are passionate about what we do and are looking for inspiring people to join our journey
  • Huge ambitions to utilise and develop our data and technology capabilities to move into new areas and markets
