We’re now looking for a Generative AI Specialist to augment our engineering team and push the limits of what’s possible in browser-based design tools.

About The Role

We’re building intelligent tools that generate detailed floorplans and visualizations of existing buildings. We’re looking for a Generative AI Specialist who will design and tune an AI-driven image enhancement and augmentation pipeline. This system will take as input text and still images of building interiors and produce controlled, realistic visual transformations — such as floor material swaps, stylistic changes, and object insertions — using state-of-the-art generative models.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine an AI generative pipeline capable of enhancing and augmenting interior images based on text prompts and reference photos. Next steps could be adding of motion graphics to images, and if technology allows rendered videos too.
• Research, experiment with, and select suitable image generation models (e.g., Stable Diffusion, SDXL, Flux, Playground v2, Midjourney, etc.) for integration into laiout’s application. And always be (re)evaluating whether any other models are more suitable.
• Engineer prompts and control techniques to achieve high-quality, consistent results while maintaining fidelity to the original image.
• Establish methods for controlling deviation from the source image (e.g., through strength parameters, controlnets, inpainting, or mask-guided diffusion).
• Prevent unwanted artifacts or rogue objects in generated outputs through prompt design, masking, and model selection.
• Work closely with an internal developer to integrate the generative pipeline into laiout’s production environment.
• Maintain a sandbox environment for testing, iteration, and fine-tuning generative processes.
• Stay continuously updated on trends, tools, and best practices in generative AI and computer vision.
• Provide guidance on model licensing, ethical generation, privacy and security, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience working with generative AI for image manipulation, augmentation, or stylization.
• You’ll stand out if you have 5+ years of experience with machine learning, and or data science related workflows, experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch. Hyper parameter searching.
• Deep familiarity with prompt engineering, image-to-image generation, and text-to-image diffusion models.
• Strong understanding of model control and stability techniques, such as CFG scale tuning, denoising strength, ControlNet, LoRA, or inpainting workflows.
• Demonstrated experience experimenting with and comparing multiple generative models for different stylistic or technical goals.
• Ability to identify and mitigate failure modes (e.g., unwanted object generation, distortion, or over-stylization).
• Passion for creative AI experimentation and active engagement with the latest open-source or commercial model releases.
• Collaborative mindset — able to communicate effectively with developers and designers.
• Proficiency in Python and experience using APIs and SDKs for model inference (e.g., ComfyUI, Hugging Face, Replicate, Stability AI, etc.).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with architectural visualization, interior design imagery, or 3D rendering pipelines.
• Experience integrating generative AI workflows into production-grade applications.
• A visual portfolio demonstrating generative image augmentation or stylization work.
